Cengong County is located in the eastern part of Guizhou Province and is in the north east of the Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture in the southeast of Guizhou. It is under the jurisdiction of the Guizhou Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture. In recent years, geological disasters in the region have constrained the economic development of local communities. In this paper, relying on the investigation of major geological hazards of hidden hazards in Cengong County, based on the collected data and on-the-spot investigations in the field, the development and distribution characteristics of geological disasters in Cengong County were analyzed, and the influencing factors of geological disasters were discussed. The formation rock group and the distance from the water system were selected. The evaluation index system was constructed from seven factors:tectonic distance, relative elevation, slope, annual rainfall, and distance from highway. On the ArcGIS platform, the hazard evaluation of geological hazards in the Cengong County was conducted using the information method and the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method respectively. Two geological hazard danger assessment results and two geological hazards in the Cengong County were obtained. The results obtained by the information method show that:the area of low-risk geological hazards is 294.9309km~2,accounting for 21.84%of the total area of the county;the area of dangerous areas in geological disasters is 501.3252km~2,accounting for 37.12%of the total area of the county;high geological disasters The area of dangerous areas is398.1294km~2,accounting for 29.48%of the total area of the county;the area of extremely high risk of geological disasters is 155.9952km~2,accounting for 11.55%of the total area of the county. The results of the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method are as follows:The area of low-risk geological hazards is 488.1456km~2,accounting for 36.15%of the total area of the county;the area of dangerous areas in geological disasters is 215.5572km~2,accounting for 15.96%of the total area of the county;geological disasters The area of high-risk area is 369.0171km~2,accounting for 27.33%of the total area of the county;the area with extremely high risk of geological disasters is 277.6608km~2,accounting for20.56%of the total area of the county. Finally, the two evaluation results were compared and analyzed. It was found from the numerical analysis of the evaluation results that both hazrad assessment methods could reflect the degree of geological disaster hazrad in the study area. There was a certain difference between the two results and the size of the hazardous area. The density of disaster spots in the area is not much different, and there is a regularity that the density of disaster points increases as the risk level increases. From the zoning analysis of the assessment results, combined with the actual data from field surveys, the results obtained from the two methods are basically consistent for the assessment results for the extremely high and high risk areas, and the assessment results for the middle and low risk areas are quite different, with fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. The results obtained by the law are more in line with the actual situation in the study area.
