Oblique aerial photography is an emerging technology developed in the field of international surveying and mapping in recent years.It has changed the idea of traditional UAV photogrammetry that acquires photographs from a fixed angle,and it can take the advantages of multi-sensors to acquire oblique photographs in batches,which can eventually build 3D city models by reconstruction algorithms.Based on the 3D city models,building a 3D visualization platform is supposed to reconstruct the physiognomy of the area,which acts on informatization promotion.It can provide powerful technical support and references for urban planning,resource monitoring and environmental protection,and improve the work efficiency and management level of the urban construction and environmental protection departments.In this paper,a workflow for capturing airborne oblique images by oblique aerial photography in Fuxi and then using the captured images to produce 3D city models by 3D modeling software is presented.Finally,an application system of Fuxi River was developed.The major work and accomplishments are as follows:(1)The images were captured in the key area of the Fuxi River by using oblique aerial photography.The orthorectification and 3D reconstruction methods were used to process the oblique images.This paper introduces the principle and workflow of oblique aerial photography in Fuxi River,and then using software named Inpho and Smart3 DCapture for processing the captured images to produce 3D models and orthophoto sets of the surveying area.(2)Building a multi-source spatial database of Fuxi River.In order to manage the orthophoto sets,spatial data sets and water quality monitoring data of Fuxi River,this paper takes spatial database as the core technology and constructs remote sensing images database and environmental database of Fuxi River under a unified standard,which is the input data for application system of Fuxi River.(3)The application system of Fuxi River divided into a client-based application and a web-based application was developed to show 3D city models,orthophoto sets,spatial data sets and water quality monitoring data.Among that system,the client-based application is mainly responsible for display and analysis of multi-source data to provide users with visualization services while the web-based application provides the good environmental data visualization service for the users by dynamic display solutions.
