With the acceleration of China's airport construction during the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan”,traditional airport design methods and technologies characteristics with paper work and independent design for ground and air fail to meet the rapid increasing demand for airport construction and cost pressures.During the construction of the airport,the essential one is site selection,whose quality has much to do with the investment during construction and airport operations.Therefore,way to effectively optimize the airport site has become an urgent problem to be solved.This paper aims to optimize the final site one in airport site selection.To solve the site optimization method and technical issues,GIS is adopted to integrate and quantify the airport's ground and air schemes,and a site optimization mode based on GIS spatial data is established.First,from the initial stage,a comprehensive analysis on influencing factors of the airport site from three aspects,namely,site's ground design,flight procedures and aircraft performance,which was filtered the main influencing factor.Second,based on the complicated airport site information in its quantity and dimensions,GIS is used to conduct data management and spatial analysis,after which,VB language for secondary development by ArcObjects was facilitated the input and output of site information.Based on the analysis of site impact factors and the application of GIS,the site coordinates are taken as independent variables,and unit models for each influencing factor is established,such as field engineering model,clearance model,before a simplified takeoff weight calculation is proposed according to the equation of motion of the aircraft.According to the factor unit price,the factor is converted into a cost function,and summarized into construction cost and operation cost,then a site optimization model with aim of the lowest total cost is constructed.According to the characteristics of the model,the artificial fish-swarm algorithm is designed to solve the model hierarchically,and the solution algorithm is implemented using MATLAB programming.Finally,taking the final site in the report of a new airport as an example,the optimization model was solved and the results were analyzed.In the example,the total cost of the site before and after the optimization and the cost of each unit are compared.The results indicate the airport site optimization model based on GIS can not only reduce the overall cost of the airport site,but also can be optimized in small scale for unit model,and can provide decision-making reference for airport site optimization.
