With the development of aviation and aerospace industry, the application of composites has a broad prospect. The metal matrix composite become the important object of study because of its excellent material properties. However, the research on metal matrix composite still in the initial stage and most models of the composite are simple to simplify problems. So it is necessary to conduct the research on the strength analysis of metal matrix composites. The uniaxial tensile property of Si C/Ti-6Al-4V metal matrix composite was predicted by micro finite element method. First, established the analysis model of Si C/Ti-6Al-4V metal matrix composite and considering the interface phase which was established by cohesive zone model. Then using the finite element software to simulate the residual thermal stress and the uniaxial tensile behavior of composite, the results were compared with the previous studies. Finally, the effect of the interface strength and the fiber volume fraction to the uniaxial tensile property of Si C/Ti-6Al-4V metal matrix composite is discussed.Based on the finite volume direct averaging micromechanics(FVADM) to predict the macro property of composite, the micro component failure criterion and the reduction model of elastic property, a macro-micro unique progress failure analysis method was proposed. Using this method, the progress failure of a Si C/Ti-6Al-4V composite laminate with a hole was simulated and predicted the strength and failure mode.Taking a type of aircraft engine’s compressor blade as prototype, the failure process of metal matrix composite blade was analyzed by the multi-scale stochastic progressive failure analysis model. The results preliminary demonstrated the possibility of the model for the engineering applications. Besides, this thesis made some advices and expectations of the metal matrix composites.
