With the development of fine blanking technology, and the applications of fine blanking is increasing widely, the fine blanking progressive dies which can combine with fine blanking and other stamping or forming processes are widely applied in production practice. However, most of the fine blanking CAD systems that developed nowadays only covered punching, blanking and other basic fine blanking technology,and were not fit for the design of the fine blanking progressive dies. Therefore, domestic mould designers still design the fine blanking progressive dies by manual drawing in the current, The problem of the low designing efficiency and the inconvenience of modifying that lead by manual drawing was still exist in the field of fine blanking progressive dies.In order to change this situation, a parametric designing method for working parts of fine blanking progressive dies was studied in this paper on the basis of UG platform.After analyzing the fine blanking progressive dies' feature, the function of the fine blanking progressive dies CAD system and its working parts designing section, the research applied KBE and insert-group technology, in order to achieve the associated designing of the working parts' based structure and the input model of parts, the working parts' auxiliary structure and the working parts' based structure, the auxiliary processes' working parts and the based processes' working parts.In order to simplify the design of complex dies' working parts, this paper made the researching objects of the fine blanking progressive dies CAD system become nine single processes by taking the working structure of complex fine blanking processes break down into the structure of based and auxiliary processes firstly, and then made the design of single processes' working part become the design of punch, concave cavity, ejector and so on by taking the working part break down.According to the input test of typical fine-blanking parts model, the parametric CAD system could complete the part design of the mold working parts effectively, and thus the problem of the low designing efficiency and the inconvenience of modifying was solved in a certain extent.
