Regional cathodic protection technology is efficient in preventing buried metal pipelines and facilities in stations from corrosion.However,the development of regional cathodic protection technology is relatively backward in China.It has not been widely used in gas pumping or compression stations in China.There is a lack of systemic research on the selection of design parameters and problems in construction and inspection.Inappropriat design parameter or defects in construction may not only weaken the effect of regional cathodic protection but also lead to potential safely risks.Therefore,it is significantly important to carry out research on regional cathodic protection technology to provide theoretical guidance for design,construction,inspection and maintenance of egional cathodic protection technology,so as to improve the effect of regional cathodic protection and ensure the safety of stations.This research takes the regional cathodic protection in stations of Chang Zhi gas pipeline as the subject and explores issues related to design,construction,inspection and effectiveness evaluation.Numerical simulation is used to predict the effect of regional cathodic protection.Real construction cases and measurement data are provided in the hope of promoting application of regional cathodic protection technology in China.The regional cathodic protection technology protects all of the protected objects in an area as a whole.The protected area features a lot of protected objects,complicated buried metal structures,severe interferences and shielding and high safety requirements.In order to achieve the optimum effect of protection,many factors should be taken into account in the design.This paper explores such issues as selection of protected object and protecting current density,design of anode bed,as well as solutions to the problems of insulation and interference.According to the layout of pipeline network in the station,a 3-D digital model of regional cathodic protection system is established.The cathodic protection potential distribution of flexible shallow anodes schem is calculated and compared with the measured data.There is a good match between them,which demonstrates that the numerical simulation technology canbe used for predicting the effect of regional cathodic protection scheme.This is significantly important for improving the protection effect of regional cathodic protection technology.The requirements for design and construction are analyzed combining with the material practice of regional cathodic protection,besides,the content of cathodic protection inspection are discussed and lots of inspected data on spot are provided.The rectification,improvement and debugging after construction are also discussed in the paper...
