This paper investigates the mechanical properties of fully-mechanized mining face scraper conveyor chain transmission system under the conditions of structural load and failure-load, and develop a kind of software for scraper conveyor dynamic simulation. First of all, based on analyzing the mechanical model of chain transmission system with pre-tightening force, head-piece and chute with gap, the paper establish the dynamic model of scraper conveyor. Secondly, determine the stiffness coefficient and analyze the chain running resistance. Discuss mechanical models of the drive system and analyze the cargo of element node in the heavy section chain. Then, it summarizes impact dynamics theory, and simulates dynamic characteristics of the chains and chain wheels under the condition of failure-load by large finite element analysis software ANSYS/LS-DYNA. The typical boundary conditions of condition load are also analyzed. Finally, based on the mechanical characteristic analyses of scraper conveyor under the conditions of condition load and failure-load, a kind of software specially for analyzing dynamic characteristics of mechanized mining face scraper conveyor chain transmission system is developed by using the tools of Visual Basic 6.0 and Matlab and by adopting object-oriented programming techniques. Use this software to analyze the dynamic characteristics of a fully-mechanized mining face scraper conveyor chain transmission system, analyze the tension and speed change of chain system under different condition load and discuss the influence of different point of failure on chain system.
