| With the over-exploitation of coal, oil and other non-renewable resources, natural polymers resources attracted attention. Cellulose is the most abundant natural resource on earth. It is urgent to research for green and efficient approach to handle it. Reed cellulose is an important renewable natural resource. Making reed fibers and cellulose membrane after dissolving and regeneration will be a waste into treasure application. But like other cellulose, it is difficult for reed cellulose to dissolve due to the large molecular hydrogen bonding. The traditional cellulose solvents such as NMMO, DMSO, etc. have defects like toxicity, low solubility, expensive and other shortcomings, severely limiting the development and utilization of reed cellulose.As a new generation solvent for cellulose, imidazole ionic liquids have unique properties such as non-toxicity, thermal stability, high solubility efficiency and recycling. Cellulose is rapidly becoming the "green solvent" of the cellulose. Cellulose/ionic liquid slurry obtained by ionic liquid pretreatment and cellulose materials after regeneration quantitatively solve the shortage of resources on the planet.In this paper, we first prepared 1-allyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride ([AMIM]Cl) and 1-butyl-3-methyl chloride ([BMIM]Cl) by one-step alkylation. Then through strongly basic anion exchange resin and reaction with corresponding carboxylic acid, ionic liquids with high purity were prepared. These ionic liquids include:1-allyl-3-methylimidazolium formate ([AMIM]~+[HCOO]~-), 1-allyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate ([AMIM]~+[CH3COO]~-),1-3-methyl formate([BMIM]~+[HCOO]~-),1-3-methyl acetate ([BMIM]~+[CH3COO]~-).At the temperature 100℃, and dissolving time 24h,the dissolution of reed cellulose in the ionic liquids were conducted in different situations. By comparing the solubility of cellulose, we found that the effect of anions is less compared with cations, but the impact cannot be ignored, for example, [AMIM]~+> [BMTIM]~+. And there is close relationship between electron-withdrawing ability of anions and dissolution, for example, acetate> formate> Cl. [AMIM] acetate is the preferred reed cellulose solvent.In this paper, raw material and regenerated cellulose were characterized by FT-IR, XRD, TG et al. The results show that ionic liquids are direct solvents for cellulose. After dissolution and regeneration, reed cellulose in nature changed. |
