Production Of Whey Powder From Bovine Colostrum And Evaluation Of Biological Activity

Bovine colostrum is the secretion of milk of cows after birth within three days.The protein,fat,inorganic salt content was higher than normal milk,and lactose content lower than normal milk.Colostrum not only rich in nutrients,but also contains a large number of biologically active substances.Research shows that Colostrum is rich in immunoglobulins,taurine,growth factors and other functional material,can improve the immune system,mediating intestinal microflora,functional dairy products in recent years the development of domestic and international hot spots.The preparation of colostrum whey powder with the method of clabber to remove the casein,while removing lactose by ultrafiltration,and then obtain colostrum whey powder full of IgG through freeze drying.The unit operations of fat,curd,and ultrafiltration were optimized.Then we apply the optimized conditions to produce colostrum whey powder.The research on the immunomodulatory effects of colostrum whey powder in experimental animals.The SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups,control group,immunocompromised group,colostrum whey group,each groups has 10 rats.Experimental results showed that bovine colostrum whey powder could significantly improve the immunocompromised rat white blood cell count;bovine colostrum whey powder had a protective effect on the lower spleen;Colostrum whey powder could significantly improve the level of IL-1β,IL-2 in serum,and have the trend to increase the concentration of TNF-α.
