Compact fluorescent lamps,as the second generation light source,is still widely used in indoor lighting because of its low energy-costing than incandescent lamps and a higher color rendering than LED.The commercial red phosphor performs a great luminescence, which simultaneously exists the problems such as high cost and energy consumption. If substitution with the commercial phosphor could be found, there is no doubt that high efficient lighting source could be promoted into more families since the lower pressure of production.Quite a long time,in comparison to Eu2+ activated long-lasting phosphor, few reports focus on Eu3+ activated long-lasting material. In this work, various of rare earth ions doped Ca4LaO?BO3?3 host phosphors have been successfully synthesized via the facile high temperature solid state method.?1?A series of Eu3+ singly-doped Ca4LaO?BO3?3 have been synthesized.Luminescence properties of the samples as the function of Eu3+ dopant concentration have been investigated. The result shows that with the dopant concentration increasing, luminescence intensities monotonously enhance, which means that concentration quenching does not occur in Ca4LaO?BO3?3 host.?2?The luminescence properties and the afterglow properties of Ca4LaO?BO3?3 singly-doped Eu3+ in low concentration have been investigated in detail.Peaks in the PL spectra of Eu3+-doped Ca4LaO?BO3?3 in low concentration show different from the sample in high dopant concentration.Afterglow could be observed when the excitation source was removed.?3?The Ca4LaO?BO3?3 phosphor, namely the sample which La3+ totally replaced by Eu3+ could be a suitable candidate for compact fluorescent lamps, which confirms by taking commercial red phosphor Y2O3:Eu3+ in comparison through the luminescence intensity and quantum yield.?4?Ca4La1-xO?BO3?3:x Tb3+ phosphors have been synthesized via solid state method.Luminescence properties as the function of Tb3+ dopant concentration has been investigated.?5?A suite of Tb3+ and Eu3+ co-doped Ca4LaO?BO3?3 phosphors have been prepared.Energy transfer process has been detected between Tb3+ and Eu3+ in Ca4LaO?BO3?3 host through steady spectra and fluorescence lifetime.Luminescent color of co-doped samples could be tunable from green to red via changing Eu3+ content.?6?Other rare earth ions doped Ca4LaO?BO3?3 phosphors have been synthesized and makes preliminary research.
