Magnetorheological fluid (MR fluid) as an important branch of the intelligent materials research category, widely used in building, Bridges, high-speed vehicles, and based on MR fluid damper is developed a new type of intelligent vibration damping device, now has become a application prospect of intelligent device in vibration control with continuous adjustable damping, wide dynamic range, fast response speed, low power consumption.This topic introduced working principle of metal foam MRF damper, test system for the semi-active controllable performance was set up to research its performance after has verified its semi-active controllable damping characteristics. Aim at the test system of dynamic structure, under the external excitation vibration condition use the theoretical calculation and finite element analysis software ANSYS to study, receive the natural frequency and vibration mode function for metal foam MRF damper provides theory basis for optimizing location; using LabVIEW virtual instrument software, write the external vibration signal data acquisition platform and PID algorithm, through the MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation platform optimizing and tuning PID controller parameter to install metal foam MRF damper vibration system has carried on the simulation research; In order to study characteristics of metal foam MRF damper, construct the semi-active closed loop control system include impose external excitation to test system with vibration exciter, get the vibration amplitude with laser displacement sensor, Contrast experiment and simulation results, Before and after applying electric current, the amplitude attenuation time and size of metal foam MRF damper semi-active control system were significantly decreased, the results show that the metal foam MR damper has a good application prospect in semi-active vibration control field, and provides theoretical and experimental basis for further application.
