Fluorotelomer alcohols (FTOHs) can be transported for a long-distance to the remote areas and then degraded to perfluorinated compounds (PFCs). These behaviors can further affect the environment and human body. However, very few researches were carried out on analysis methods and environmental behavior of FTOHs due to their short history of use. The researches on detection of FTOHs in soil and the soil-air distributive behavior are important. In this study, a method on High-Performance Liquid Chromatography/Electrospray Ionization Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry (HPLC-ESI-MS/MS) was developed to measure four FTOHs (4:2 FTOH,6:2 FTOH,8:2 FTOH and 10:2 FTOH) in soil. In brief, 1-gram soil extrected with 1.5 ml 9:1(v:v) acetonitrile/NaOH aqueous (20 mM) twice by ultrasonic, each time for 30 min. Multi-reactive Ion Monitoring (MRM) and Electrospray Negative Ion were chosen to detect FTOHs. Methanol and 0.01% ammonia aqueous were used as mobile phases. The results showed that relationships of response verus concentration for the four FTOHs fitted good linear, with the linear correlation coefficients between 0.997 to 0.999. The standard addition recoveries for the four FTOHs were between 80.6%-103.9% and the relative standard deviations were between 6.22%~9.26%. This method by LC-MS/MS is suitable for analyzing the four FTOHs in soil samples with relatively high sensitivity and high recoveries.Modified solid fugacity meter was used to measure soil-air partiton coefficient (KSA) of FTOHs (6:2 FTOH,8:2 FTOH,10:2 FTOH) under a low temperature condition (-30-0 ℃). When the air got through the contaminated soil, target object would reach a balance between air and soil. Gas carrying FTOHs was trapped by Macroporous resin adsorbent XAD-2, which were placed in the exit of fugacity meter device, and then extracted by Accelerated Solvent Extraction (ASE) and analyzed by Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). FTOHs in the soil were extracted by ultrasonic and analyzed by LC-MS/MS. The results showed that the logKSA value of the three FTOHs were between-1.31~4.43 in the test temperature range. Plots of logKSA to 1/T exhibited linear relationship with slope over 6.60~ 7.41, and the slope increased with the number of carbon atoms.
