Silver metal organic framework is a novel class of antibacterial material with efficient and persistent biocidal activities. Applied in antibacterial field, silver MOF exhibits additional advantages such as tunable compositions and fascinating structures, containing ionic metal in high surface area, controllable release ration of the metal ions and excellent biocompatibility, and it has attracted lots of attention. However, there are still some problems in the application of silver MOF to be solved. Currently, we focused our attention on antibacterial activities of silver MOF for purpose of achieving their application in antibacterial materials. [Ag2(HBTC)(im)]n(Ag-MOF-1) was synthesized and its effects of chemical composition and structure on antibacterial activities were investigated as well. Especially, we synthesized three types of applied materials based on Ag-MOF-1:Ag-MOF-1 film, Ag-MOF-1@PLA nano fiber, Ag-MOF-1@POE film. And all of the three applied materials exhibit excellent bactericidal activities. The main points and contents in this thesis are summarized as follows:(1) Micron-nano-sized particles of Ag-MOF-1 have been synthesized by hydrothermal reaction. Thermogravimetric analysis showed that the MOF-1 can keep stable under 300 ℃, and it shows good optical stability under UV-vis and visible light. Antibacterial performance tests showed that the antibacterial activity of Ag-MOF-1 is significantly higher than that of commercial silver nanoparticles.(2) The Ag-MOF-1 film was constructed on glass substrates with controlled thickness by the assembly of preformed way. The chemical structures and morphologies of these coatings were characterized which were readily indexed to that of micro-/nano-particles, and the stability of the coating materials was also investigated. Double fluorescence staining and cells immobilized technique showed that bacteria can’t stick to the surface and surrounding bacterial were inactivated.(3) Ag-MOF-1@PLA nano fiber and Ag-MOF-1@POE film have been prepared by electrospining and blending method respectively. The chemical structures and morphologies of these composite materials were characterized. Through systematic analysis, both of the two composite materials were proved to obtain excellent antibacterial performance.
