Along with the wide application of plastic products, the injection blow molding machine, as the manufacturing facility of plastic products, has made a great development. And the lower plate is an important part of the injection blow molding machine. As the pressure template, the quality of the lower plate directly affects the plastic products'. The fracture of template will not only affect the production schedule, but also increase the cost of production because of the change of the template. Furthermore, the weight of template takes up a large proportion of that of the machine. Therefore, the lightweight of the template will reduce the consumption of materials.This thesis takes the fractured lower plate of the injection blow molding machine type of WD52PC as the research object, and concentrates on the following work:(1) According to the fracture of the lower plate, this thesis, starting with it, analyzes the chemical composition, metallographic structure and mechanical property of the material respectively so as to find the possible reasons for the fracture.(2) This thesis models 3D entity, assumes four possible boundary conditions, adds to the nonlinear contact settings and bolt pre-tightening force, selects simple and reasonable structure of boundary conditions and performs finite element analysis and overloading analysis on it to judge the rationality of structure design and whether being potential problems owning to overloading.(3) In order to achieve the lightweight, this thesis conducts topology optimal design to the original structure based on OptiStruct, thus realizing the sharp reduction in volume.(4) In order to avoid the disadvantages of displacement and the increase in stress due to the topology optimization, this thesis, based on the optimized model, makes a multi-objective optimization in shape on the basis of the Hyper Study, verifies the accuracy of the results in optimization and achieves the lightweight of the structure with small variations in displacement and stress of the original model.
