Flotation recovery of micro fine minerals has been one of the problems in the field of mineral processing,which is mainly due to the micro fine minerals caused by the physical properties of itself,the quality is small,high interfacial energy,thereby reducing the bubbles and particles of the collision and attachment probability.This paper aims at the difficult floatation's problems of micro fine chalcopyrite,laboratory has developed six different hydrophobic nanoparticle flotation collectors and studied their collecting perfprmance,which is through pure mineral flotation test,calculating the interfacial reciprocity free energy in the chalcopyrite system.And contact angle,zeta potential,infrared spectrum,scanning electron microscope are used to study the adsorption mechanism of the hydrophobic nanoparticle flotation collectors on surface of chalcopyrite.The study find that after the interaction of six kinds of nanoparticle flotation collectors and chalcopyrite,the variation of its flotation recoveries were similar,which is that the change rule of flotation recovery rate as the dosage increases at first and then tends to be stable.The anionic collectors form a multilayer adsorption of inversion layer on mineral surface,resulting in polar group outward,to a certain extent reduce the hydrophobicity of collectors,leading to the chalcopyrite flotation recovery rate is reduced.In addition,after the role of both chalcopyrite and different collectors,the recovery rates tend to stable values were different,by contrast,nonionic collector's flotation behavior was poorer.The pH value of pulp directly affect anionic or cationic nanoparticle flotation collectors performance,the recovery rate of chalcopyrite in overly acidic or basic conditions is low,the highest in pH=7.The pH value of pulp has little effect to non-ionic nanoparticle flotation collectors.Young's(T.Young)equation that chalcopyrite belongs to the polar surface,and shows stronger characteristics of Lewis base.Vander Waals attraction and hydrophobic attraction exist in the interphase between chalcopyrite,hydrophobic nanoparticle flotation collectors and water.Hydrophobic attraction determines the strength of nanoparticle flation collector.According to the EDLVO potential curve of interaction between mutual surfaces,polarity free energy(AB)is larger than Vander Waals attraction(LW)and electrostatic energy(EL)one to two orders of magnitude.Polarity free energy(AB)is the major effect,this is hydrophobic nanoparticle flotation collectors adsorption mechanism in chalcopyrite surface.Contact angle,zeta potential,infrared spectrum,scanning electron microscope are used to study the role of micro fine chalcopyrite and hydrophobic nanoparticle flotation collectors.The analyses of contact angle shows that after chalcopyrite and collector effect,surface contact angle become larger and at 96 ° to 109 °,chalcopyrite with high recovery.The analyses of zeta potential show that adsorption effect of anionic or cationic nanoparticle flotation collectors is better than adsorption effect of nonionic.And complex reaction happens between the functional group of imidazole or thiazole nitrogen atom and metal ions.The analyses of infrared spectrum show that there are both-NH2 physical adsorption and functional groups of C-S and C-N chemical adsorption.Desorption tests show that the chemical adsorption is more stable.The figures of scanning electron microscopy(SEM)show nanoparticles adsorption on the surface of chalcopyrite in micro globular form,and more uniform adsorption on the protruding part of the chalcopyrite,concave part is less even no adsorption.
