Water shortage and water pollution in the form of grim situation has attracted widespread attention in today's world all walks of life. Nowadays, people are increasing requirements for discharge of industrial wastewater treatment, costs are also referred to the appropriate focus of public attention. Therefore, the optimal design of water treatment network has great significance. The target of water treatment network is to make fresh water consumption and wastewater generation to a minimum and makes emissions to meet environmental discharge limits. Optimal design of water treatment network to meet the needs of today's community. In this paper, a comprehensive study of the status of water networks and the Institute for the use of its research methods, such as water pinch analysis and mathematical programming. For wastewater treatment design section, the paper studied the wastewater treatment network for distributed processing network, superior to centralized processing, reduces infrastructure costs and disposal costs. The main research of this subject are:Firstly, application of mathematical programming method for wastewater treatment network optimization, at first established to meet the feasible connections of superstructure and to the wastewater stream by the objective of minimizing the total flow, ultimately get the wastewater stream distribution through the optimized allocation of GAMS software. Citing examples in the literature comparing the resulting optimization results comparable to the results in the literature.Secondly, the following three parameters as variables in wastewater treatment network, and then be modeled. At first, the methods to minimize waste water circulation is cycle. Cycle as a variable to observe the changes occurring wastewater treatment network with the foregoing structure design optimization compared. Impurities removing ratio is an important indicator of the evaluation for wastewater treatment capacity. Removing ratio as a variable to observe the changes in the wastewater treatment network structure with the foregoing structure design optimization compared. Finally, the limit of environmental emissions concentration is important in the design of data limitations. With the environmental emissions concentration being variables, change its value to observe the structure change of the wastewater treatment network, and then compared with the optimize structure which is designed earlier in the front.Thirdly, application of combine the water pinch point analysis and mathematical programming method to optimize the design of water network. The combination of water pinch point analysis and mathematical programming method is applied, firstly, in getting the renewable pinch concentration through drawing of water pinch point. And the on the basis of it, mathematical programming method is used aiming at the minimum fresh water consumption, to get the optimal structure of water network.
