Heat exchangers play important roles in national economy and industry. With the development of making ability of petrochemical engineering, we have put emphasis on reducing the cost of oil refining and consumption. Heat exchangers equipment possesses from 20 to 30 percent of the whole investment, needing repairing annually, so it is significative for enterprises to improve their efficiency. In the 1960s, Based on the idea proposed changes baffle arrangement angle helical baffle heat exchanger. The baffles are arranged approximately helical surface helical baffle heat exchanger shell-side fluid to achieve a continuous helical flow in order to reduce the shell-side flow resistance and strengthen the purpose of heat transfer fluid.1990s there has been such a change baffles angled shell and tube heat exchanger commercial products. Although the advent of nearly twenty years, studies of heat transfer performance of such helical surface helical baffle heat exchanger for but rarely seen publicly reported.Based on the above realities carried out on the basis of helical baffles different angles shell heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop were studied, according to the experimental data, the calculation method of the shell side heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop of the helical baffles heat exchanger with different helix angle is summarized. The performance comparison of the structure is made by using the object-oriented programming method. The research can provide some theoretical guidance for the development of the new type of tube shell heat exchanger with a series of experiments and theoretical support.
