Intelligent material has been a high performance composite material since the rapid development in the 1990s. With the development of the era, intelligent material gets more and more attention and extensive application. Shape memory material is an important part of smart materials, and therefore, the research, development and applications of shape memory polymer are also a very important issue.PB-1, as a kind of new materials, has the advantages of corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, good toughness, also more and more widely used in pipeline. Besides, as a thermoplastic elastomer, PB-1 has a shape memory effect.To broaden the application scope of polybutylene-1, we product the composite material with shape memory performance with polybutylene-1 resin as matrix, EVA blending with EVA, POE-g-MAH as compatilizer and BPO as cross-linking agent.In addition, we add the inorganic particles of diatomite into the PB-1/EVA composite and study the effect of diatomite to the shape memory effect of composites.By studying the BPO to the effect of shape memory and other properties of PB-1 materials, we found that when BPO content is 0.5%, material has the highest response rate was 80.0%, increased by 14.3%, but poor shape fixed rate and gel rate is 50.2%. By analysising the DSC curve of crosslinked PB-1 materials, it showed that the initial melting temperature from 100.3? reduced to 94.61?; complete melting temperature from 125.7? dropped to 117.4?. Therefore, the shape memory effect material PB-1 is poor.To improve the shape memory effect of PB-1 materials,we product the composite material has with good shape memory effect by adding EVA into the matrix resin. Studies find that when EVA content is 25%, the shape of the composite material fixed rate from 70.5% to 79.5%, the shape recovery rate from 65.7% to 65.7%, and the elastic modulus is 23.35 MPa, obviously improved.On this basis, with EVA content of 25%, POE-g-MAH content of 12%, BPO content of 0.3%, the shape memory effect of the composites is improved obviously. The shape fixed rate of composite material is 91.5%, the shape recovery rate is 96.3%. The gel rate of composite is 43.7%.The DSC curve shows stationary phase in low temperature part of the composites increases;initial melting temperature, melting point, and completely melt temperature decreases;The elastic modulus of the composite is 31.1 MPa, increased by 18.3%.We product the composite material by adding inorganic particles of into PB-1/EVA composites as a physical junction. The study shows that when the content of diatomite is 2.0, the shape recovery rate of the composite material is improved from 80.8% to 88.2%, shape fixed rate slightly increased.
