Chlorine ion is a widespread ion in water. Chlorine ion content is a very important index of water. It has an extremely important influence to bridge construction, industrial metal thermal equipments and the human body healthy. It has important practical significance for the accurate detection of chlorine ion content in water.In this paper, research on the detection of chlorine ion concentration in water based on ion selective electrode method is carried out. The research background on the detection of chlorine ion concentration and a brief overview of its research status is introduced. Principles of the ion selective electrode method to detect the concentration of chlorine ion is introduced. In order to control the measuring time of the detection system, the electrochemical analysis methods chronoamperometry is introduced to the chlorine ion concentration detection process. For improving detection accuracy and reducing the impact of the temperature, method of temperature compensation is adopted and calculation formulas of chlorine ion concentration with temperature compensation is deduced. In order to realize the detection of chloride concentration in water, the chlorine ion concentration detection system with two-electrode measuring mode and three-electrode measuring mode is proposed and designed with a core processing chip of STM32F103. It includes signal amplifying filter circuits, constant potential circuits and other peripheral hardware circuits, and the corresponding software application is prepared according to the measurement principle and calculation formulas of temperature compensation. Preparation methods and processes of the all-solid-state chlorine ion selective electrode of system are introduced in detail, experiments of parameter optimization for the prepared chlorine ion selective electrode are done, and get the best electrode parameters in practical applications.Finally, calibration experiments and test experiments of chlorine ion concentration detection for the system are done. The experiments of chlorine ion concentration detection system indicate that the temperature compensation can improve the accuracy of system and the system is reliable. The results show that the deviation of the system can be reduced and the accuracy can be improved with the temperature compensation calculation formulas of chlorine ion concentration detection. The system can satisfy the requirements for detecting chlorine ion concentration in water.
