A lot of dust will be produced in the process of coal mining. High density of dust can not only accelerate mechanical wear, affect normal operation of the equipment and shorten life of the precision instruments, but also can deteriorate working condition and reduce staff's sight of line and endanger workers' healthy. Dust treatment in fully-mechanized excavation working face is a difficult problem for coal mines.The air-flowing field and dust distribution characteristics in fully-mechanized excavation working face were simulated and analyzed by the fluid software Fluent, and combining with the actual situation of the Huipodi five east mining district rock excavation roadway. 16 kind of models of forced ventilation and 48 kind of models of forced exhaust ventilation were established and simulated in excavating working face. Through comparison and analysis, when the distance between forced wind tube and excavation working face is 7m, the distance between exhaust wind tube and excavation working face is 3m, the effect of ventilation and dust removal is better. According to the dust distribution characteristics, dust concentration is relatively large in excavation working face and intake wind side, some optimization measures for dust treatment were put forward.In order to validate the reliability of numerical simulation results, the simulated values with the measured values were compared. According to the dust distribution characteristics, tubes were ranged, and spraying and dust removal system were optimized in excavation working face and intake wind side, which can achieve the purpose of high-efficiency dust removal. Improve the environmen of excavation working face and obtain the good economic and social benefits, through dust treatment in the process of rock roadway excavation.
