Ladle crane is one of the important equipment of steelmaking production, once the failure will lead to intermittent production process, for production restriction is bigger. In this paper, a steel plant of 450 t ladle crane hoisting mechanism reducer as the research object, the development and design a set of on-line condition monitoring and fault diagnosis system, the wavelet packet analysis method with the shock pulse method to implement fault diagnosis of the gearbox, make up for the deficiency of the traditional five senses the tally, realize the precise diagnosis of equipment, to solve the problems brought by the equipment check and maintenance is not timely, to realize the on-line real-time monitoring of the equipment.This article first introduces the 450 t ladle crane main hoister reducer group and the establishment of the online fault monitoring system, describes the necessity of system development, the characteristics of the system, hardware system and software system. Study the time-frequency analysis method, short time Fourier transform, wavelet transform and wavelet packet transform their own characteristics and scope of application, by constructing the signal and the computer simulation verify the theoretical research, the accuracy of each method in combination with steel concrete work environment, this paper introduces the pulse spectrum analysis technology, is proposed based on wavelet packet analysis and fault diagnosis analysis method of the shock pulse method, this paper expounds the principle of system analysis and design program block diagram, and through the computer simulation analysis of the vibration signal detection system stability and accuracy of the operation, finally this method was applied to the engineering practice, combined with the example of 450 t ladle crane main hoister reducer is proved the feasibility and effectiveness of condition monitoring and fault diagnosis system, realize according to the state of the equipment maintenance, to other equipment fault diagnosis technology to form a good guidance and reference significance.
