In the heavy plate industry overcapacity situation, we must rely on product quality for survival, relying on technological innovation for development, enterprises can remain invincible in the market competition is becoming increasingly serious situation. In this paper, combining with Ansteel Bayuquan 5500 mm heavy plate mill actual situation,in the context of Ansteel Bayuquan 5500 mm plate mill hydraulic gap control(HGC) system, through the establishment of plate mill unilateral HGC s ystem mathematical model and AMEsim simulation model, to research the mill precision control core technology of mill hydraulic gap control system, to achieve the purpose of improving the stability and reliability of the HGC system working process and contr ol accuracy of HGC system for the plate thickness. Its main contents are as follows:(1) To explore the basic principles of the strip thickness control, in-depth analysis of the main factors affecting the plate thickness.(2) With the actual production of Ansteel Bayuquan 5500 mm heavy plate line, it is described the main structure of heavy plate mill hydraulic roll gap control system components, it is explored the main functions and working principle of Ansteel Bayuquan 5500 mm heavy plate mill hydraulic aut omatic gauge control system, it established unilateral roll gap position control system model, it built mathematical model to do simulation analysis in MATLAB / Simulink environment, and using simulation results to verify the correctness of amending the actual PID controller parameters for heavy plate production line.(3) Using AMEsim software simulation analysis the oil pipeline shocks and big impact problem when plate mill HGC system running back to the oil, Proposed the method that by adjusting the nitrogen pressure of accumulator and installation a accumulator on the hydraulic system return oil piping before the check valve, to solve the plate mill HGC system shocks and return oil big impact problem, proposed the scheme that by increasing the gas system to improve the working environment of the HGC magnetoscale, to solve frequent position detection unit feedback error problem during the system running.The results of this study has been successfully applied in Ansteel Bayuquan 5500 mm heavy plate mill, improved the control accuracy of HGC system for the plate thickness, enhanced the stability and the reliability of the HGC system working process, reduced production costs, enhanced the competitiveness of enterprises.
