This paper came forward the concept and made a detailed introduction of nonuniform spinning. Because there is no drawing non-uniform yarn product and roving nonuniform yarn product in the market, the roving frame was designed to produce nonuniform yarn in this paper. By comparing appearance and testing physical properties and characteristics, reference can be offered for industrial production.This paper includes the following aspects:the first part introduced evenly blended yarn, a series of new spinning method and Non-uniformity of the spinning. Evenly blended yarn is the mainstream products in the market. At present, the main product is a series of fancy yarn which includes segment color yarn and slubby yarn and so on. The second part described Non-uniform spinning system. Non-uniform spinning system is produced by undermixing fibrous materials through the operations of each step. According to the different process, non-uniform yarn can be divided into drawing nonuniform yarn, roving non-uniform yarn and spinning non-uniform yarn. The third part introduced two methods of producing roving non-uniform which could be modified on the roving machine. One method is adding a back roller in the basic of three rollers. The other method was changing the fourth roller drive as servo motor to control intermittent driving. The fourth part was designing a server system including server motor, server deriver and PLC to drive four rollers intermittently. It involved with model selection of server motor, parameter setting of server driver, procedure setting of PLC and ligature of each other. Then the finished product was assembled to test rum. The fifth part was adjusting the technological parameters to spin, test properties and choose the best technological parameters. The sixth part introduced yarn of once drawing, yarn of twice drawing, yarn of three times drawing and ring-spun yarn which were compared with roving non-uniform yarn and tested physical characteristics. Then the advantages and disadvantages of different non-uniform yarn could be concluded.
