As the core part of strip mill,theperformance of the oil film bearing has big impact on the operation and the quality of the products.Along with the improvement of technology, the strip mill developed in the direction of high load and long time stable operation. Due to various reasons,regularly some failure occurred on oil-film bearings during the operation such as wearing,scratching,cracketc.These failures cause production halts, and cause the steel factory big loss. Because the oil film bearing can be failed in different ways,it could because the machining quality is not good enough,or the lubrication system doesn`t workwell,or the pouring engineering of Babbitt metal is not good. It is wrong to treat it in a way.So analysis the failure reason of oil film bearing and give reasonable suggestions will make a lot of senses to improve the life of oil film bearing and reduce the production cost.This thesis analyze the reason of the failure in the edge of sleeve :With the fluid-solid coupling ability,taking bearing from one of the biggest domestic steel factory as example,creating the model and do calculation.The results indicatesthe max. oil film pressure is 1.936 MPa without considering the deflection of the roll, then analysis the impact of deformation. Taking the deformation as a variable, do the iteration calculation and finally get the convergence highest stress 2.233 MPa and largest deformation 0.115 mm. Thus,the similar results can be obtained under other loads, for example:1250t,1300 t,1350t,1400 t and 1450 t.Finally,the adjustment must bigger than the minimum oil-film thickness for example the adjustment must reach 0.1254 mm under 1200t; meanwhile the wearing of self-adjustment device reduced the adjustment which caused the abrasion of sleeve when incorrect maintenance, and this give a good reference for stable operation. Besides,this thesis compared the fluid-to-solid coupling dates with the actually operation date, and find they are coincident, confirming the reliability of the numerical analysis.
