Spray nozzle looks like a small part, but it plays a very important role in the spray desulfurization tower. The efficiency of desulfurization depends on the performance of the nozzle. In order to effectively improve the desulfurization efficiency as the starting point, we did some optimization simulation of the swirl nozzle, and proposed new swirl nozzle which can be more efficient, more energy-saving and environmental-friendly.In this paper, we used CFD to simulate and analyze the existing swirl nozzle, and optimized its structure. The results show that:when the swirl nozzle tangential inlet number is 4, it has a better symmetry swirl state; the swirl nozzle up angel to be 8 degrees to 12 degrees, the rotational fluid has a larger overall speed with great kinetic energy; in the exit section, the atomization angel becomes smaller with the increasing of the length of the outlet neck, at the same time, the atomization angel increase slowly with the increase of the diameter of the outlet, and got the formula of swirl atomizing nozzle outlet diameter and the tangent of the angle,which is tan?2/??=2.3901??d0?/D?+2.4314; On the other hand, for the cyclone body section, in axial section, the axial velocity of the fluid presents M-type, and the radial shows S-type, finally we obtained the relationship between velocity and radial distance.In a series of simulation and optimization with the existing swirl nozzle, its performance is better than the original structure, but it always has the problems, such as the wall easy to be corroded and abrasion?small processing amount?difficult to clean, etc. Therefore, this paper proposes a new swirl nozzle:Laval air swirl nozzle.Numerical analysis shows that:this new type swirl nozzle has some excellent characteristics, like not easy to plug?large processing amount?not easy to be corroded and abrasion? energy-efficient, and finally the new type swirl nozzle can be amplified as a gas-liquid reactor, which is an excellent characteristic, also provide a new direction for the follow-up study.
