Research On The Relationship Between Carbon Performance And Enterprise Performance Of Automobile Industry

Since a new concept of “low carbon” proposed in Britain energy white paper The Future of our Energy: the Creation of Low Carbon Economy in 2013,governments of all countries pay high attention to the development of low carbon.In recent years,“low carbon” has gradually come into people’s life,and low carbon economy has become a new mode for country’s economic development.Therefore,low carbon economy is the inevitable course for sustainable development.However,automobile industry,as a high-carbon industry,is one of the industries with the most pressure for energy conservation and emission reduction.Because automobile industry,one of the economic pillar in China,enjoys many preferential policies from the government,it should undertake certain social responsibility to pay back our society.The persistent and stable development of automobile industry is of vital importance to China’s economic construction.In recent years,the relationship researches about carbon and enterprise performance are increasingly attracted people’s attention.Under this background,this paper,based on automobile industry,focuses on the research of relationship between carbon performance and enterprise performance.Carbon emission is an important part to reflect carbon performance.This paper tries to measure the total carbon emission and then set carbon performance index with the reference to the method from IPCC2006 Guide.This paper divides enterprise performance into two sides: market performance and financial performance.Then,from these two points,the paper respectively researches the relationship between carbon and market performance,carbon and financial performance.It further studies which one has the most remarkable influence.Through research,I find that: there is positive correlation relationship between carbon and enterprise performance,which means that,the better carbon performance is,the better enterprise performance is.In addition,the conspicuousness of carbon and financial performance is relatively weaker than that of carbon and market performance.This indirectly indicates that compared with the internal of enterprise,external investors and potential investors pay more attention to carbon performance level.In the end,this paper,in accordance with the above research conclusion,proposes relevant suggestions and solutions for the improvement of carbon performance level.
