In the iron and steel industry,crane is widely applied in field of iron,steel,continuous casting,hot rolling,cold rolling,and product warehousing etc.,and it is mainly operated manually.Besides crane driver,slinger and signaler and other operators are also needed to complete production operations.Normally it takes 3 to 4 people for each crane operation;the increasing labor cost results in great pressure to an enterprise's operation.And when lifting heavy products,safety factor of slinger and other operators below the crane is very low,the slightest negligence will result in personal injury or death.Iron and steel industry comes into the era of meager profit,competitive market requires companies to continuously improve their overall competitiveness,to change the traditional process mode,to improve the degree of automation,to reduce labor cost and to improve product competitiveness.At present,large-scale iron and steel enterprises in Japan and South Korea begin to promote warehouse automation of steel products,and have a relatively wide range of applications;however,domestic steel mills' warehouse operation of steel products are currently still using the manual mode,there is no automated crane cases;to carry out the study in this field will have a significant meaning to fill the gap in this industry.In 2012,Transportation Department of Baosteel proposed the idea of implementing automated steel coil crane,and began research and development project.This thesis is mainly focused on the research of a series of key technologies such as precise positioning,laser scanning imaging,location management optimization,crane automatic operation&automatic anti-sway control,automatic clamp,warehouse safety protection etc.,and a set of automatic control system of steel coil crane with intellectual property was formed,this system was successfully put into operation and use to#21 crane in the dock warehouse of Baosteel Transportation Department.First of all,the crane's operation process,operation standard and equipment were analyzed.By using laser scanning and three-dimensional imaging technology,a system of three-dimensional scanning and precise positioning was created and available to Steel coils into Storage and saddles out of the warehouse,automatic identification of the physical coordinate of steel coils and saddles was realized.Mathematics model of location management was set up,location optimization management was applied to steel coils into and out of the warehouse,and it could automatically arrange the most appropriate crane to operate by using dedicated clamp to achieve automatic crane traveling and steel coil lifting.The design of crane's electronic anti-sway technology was accomplished,which lead to the stability during crane' automatic operation and steel coils' lifting process,it achieved careful handling,significantly improved and enhanced product quality,production efficiency,and production safety.Meanwhile,the achievement of crane automatic control system reduced the quantity of crane operators,reduced the labor cost and improved the company's competitiveness.
