| Residue hydrotreating process,which is both economical and friendly to environment,has been the preferred choice for oil refineries to improve economic efficiency.Based on the industrial data from a 3.9Mt/a residue hydrotreating(RHT)unit during three cycles of operation in Shanghai Petrochemical Co.Ltd.,Effects of Many factors and countermeasures including catalyst performances,quality of products,energy consumption,the problems and improvement in the operation and equipment,as well as the factors affecting long period running of the unit.on the operation of the RHT unit were analyzed The results of industrial application of RHT process showed the third generation of RHT series catalysts developed by Sinopec RIPP has low inactivation rate,high activities in desulfurization,demetalization and removal of carbon residue.Under the precondition of guarantee long periodical and safe operation,the unit can continuously provides hydrotreated residue oil with low sulfur,low residue carbon and low metal for downstream fluid catalytic cracking(FCC)unit using more optimized process operation.Based on the analysis for the problems in the operation and equipment and implementation of solutions,the RHT unit can be smooth and steady operated and produce qualified hydrotreated residual oil as the feedstock of FCC unit.Meanwhile energy consumption was reduced and the good foundation of the unit operation and maintenance in future was layed.Thereby the successful industrial application of RHT process in Shanghai Petrochemical Co.Ltd will play an important role in improving the overall level of the resid hydrotreating technology and guiding the operation of similar RHT unit. |
