In this paper,lightweight ceramsite have been using coal gangue hollow microsphere and green glass hollow microsphere as the main raw materials,add some binder and sintered by high temperature.The influences of sintering temperature,holding time and glass powder content on the properties of lightweight ceramsite have been studied.The sintering process was optimized by orthogonal experiment.The printing and dyeing wastewater was simulated with fuchsine and methylene blue and use ceramsite as adsorbent.The influences of adsorption time,ceramsite dosage and the initial concentration of the solution on the adsorption capacity have been studied.The adsorption model and adsorption mechanism of ceramsite to dye solution were determined.The results show that the apparent density and water absorption rate of ceramsite increase gradually with the increasing of sintering temperature,while the compressive strength increases firstly then decreases.When the ceramsite sintered at 700 °C,the compressive strength is 200.5 N to the maximum.The compressive strength of the ceramsite increases first and then decreases as the holding time increases.Adding glass powder could improve the compressive strength.With the increasing of glass powder content,the compressive strength increased significantly.The compressive strength of ceramsite obtained by being sintered at 700 °C and with glass powder content of 25wt% increases to 327.5 N,increases by 63.3%.Through the orthogonal experiment the optimal sintering process for the ceramsite is that coal gangue hollow microspheres and green glass hollow microspheres is 4:6 and the sintering temperature is 700 oC,while the holding time is 60 min.The adsorption amount of fuchsine and methylene blue solution increased with the increase of adsorption time,and the adsorption time was 90 min.The removal rate of ceramsite to fuchsine and methylene blue solution increased with the increase of the amount of ceramsite,the removal rate was stable when the dosage was 5 g.The adsorption amount of the fuchsine and methylene blue solution increases with the increase of the solution concentration.When the solution concentration is 120 mg/L,the adsorption capacity of the ceramsite is not increased,and it tends to saturation.The adsorption process of ceramic to dye solution can be described by Langmuir isotherm model and pseudo two order kinetics model.Ceramic filter through the French food safety test and applied to the drinking water purification.
