In recent years,the technology for cutting tool edge preparation has become a study hotspot in the field of manufacturing.The cutting tool with reasonable preparation has a good cutting edge model.The strength of the cutting edge can not only be improved effectively and the service life of the cutting edge can be greatly extended,also the stability of the cutting tool during the cutting process can be improved effectively,then the cutting quality of the parts can be improved.Therefore study on the preparation of cutting tool edge technology has theoretical and applicable significance.Because the micro abrasive water jet has the advantages of non-selectivity to processing materials,no heat affected area,clean and environment-friendly etc.The cutting tool edge preparation with the micro abrasive water jet has incomparable advantages in comparison with the other preparation processing manners.As a new preparation manner,the micro abrasive water jet for preparing the cutting tool edge has good application prospects.A BP artificial neural network model for preparing the cutting tool edge using micro abrasive water jet is put forward in this thesis.Based on this model,it was trained based on samples of vast amounts of experiment data.Finally the accuracy of the model-predicted result through the experiment was verified.The basic principle of the micro abrasive water jet for preparing the cutting tool edge is analyzed.The preparation principle of the micro abrasive water jet and the influence of micro abrasive water jet preparation equipment and jet parameters to the preparation effects is studied.Moreover,the experiments on the micro abrasive water jet preparation is designed.the measurement of the cutting edge of the cutting blade of the experimental sample and the analysis method was introduced.The experimental data indicates that different edge radiuses can be obtained by controlling the jet parameters.In addition,the cutting tool edge observed under a microscope has good micro morphology.Various results indicate that the micro abrasive water jet is an efficient technological manner for preparing cutting tools.A model based on a BP neural network for micro abrasive water jet preparation is established.In the environment of Matlab Neural Network Toolbox,24 groups of representative data acquired in the experiment capable of reflecting micro abrasive water jet preparation rules are used for the training.Forecasting of the neural network model is analyzed.The forecast results indicate that the trained neural network model has higher prediction accuracy and generalization ability.The theory has a greater reference value for the selection of the micro abrasive water jet parameter during the cutting tool preparation process.
