The geometric error of NC machine tools is an important factor affecting the precision of the workpiece, and the main way to improve the precision of NC machine tools and reduce the machining error is the geometric error measurement and compensation for machine tools.The experiment platform of this topic is smart machine tools which equipped with HNC-8 system, and the main measurement tools is API XD Laser measurement system. This issue studied fast measurement method of NC machine tool’s space errors. And integrated the XD laser measurement system with HNC-8 system deeply. The main research content is as follows:First,analyzed the machine tools’ error measuring method based on laser interferometer at home and abroad.By using API 6-D laser interferometer,designed the fast measurement method of 21 space error for three axis NC vertical machining center. Standard procedures of error measurement and realized fast clamping and aligning light of measurement devices, and measurement parameters optimization Settings.Secondly,analyzed the composition and structure characteristics of XD Laser measurement system and HNC-8 system.And designed fast measuring interface based on HNC-8 system.HNC-8 system is an open NC system and it can be developed. By using the advantages, we developed error measurement, data analysis and error compensation function module.And realized the integration of API XD laser measurement system and HNC-8 system in single forms and upper and lower machine form.Finally, based on the above research, designed and carried out error measurement and compensation test of NC machine tools.And actual application shows that the time taken by error measurement and compensation can be reduced in 4 hours by using the depth integrated HNC-8 system, and compared with the original XD laser measurement system measurement efficiency increase nearly 30%.
