In the crack control technology of laser cutting glass, the demand that the shape of light spot changes following the local contour changes of machining position is proposed. In order to meet the demand, this paper studies the synchronization technology of dual controller. Through the analysis, it is concluded that the two main points of this technology are how to synchronize the position points between two controllers and how to calculate the local contour.In order to solve the problem of position point synchronization between two controllers, this paper proposes a method of position point synchronization based on motion stroke coding. The basic principle of the method is to accumulate active controller's journey of each interpolation cycle, and get the total moving distance, then according to the stroke code and sent to the slave controller for synchronization. The method has the advantages of simple encoding method, small transmission for data amount, high universality, and is adapt to various complex graphics.In order to solve the problem of calculating the local profile after the machining point, this paper presents a new method of local contour calculation based on string following control. The method using string following control as the active motion's control strategy, make the water point and spot starting point do double point processing through the string following, then, according to the two point processing algorithm, compute feature point coordinates of graphics' local contour after coordinates.In order to solve the deficiency of the local contour calculation method based on the string following control, this paper presents a new method of local contour calculation based on the pole angle interpolation control. The method using polar angle interpolation control as the active motion's control strategy, make the water-cooled do single point processing uniformly through the polar angle interpolation, then, according to the single point processing algorithm, the coordinates of discrete points on the local contour of the spot are calculated.Finally, in order to verify the correctness of the feed synchronization technology with dual controller, this paper firstly simulated and verified on the MATLAB, and then processed on the machine tool to verify the accuracy of the proposed method.
