| High strength steel has become an excellent material recently for vehicle structural parts to adapt to the trend of automobile lightweight. High strength steels generally cannot be cold formed due to defects such as cracks, wrinkles and high stamping spring back. It is only possible to effectively form these steels by hot stamping. The press must have a high flexible regulating ability to adjust slider position, speed, and output force during hot stamping process. Mechanical servo press can meet these requirements well. The development of hot stamping process has set higher demand to the flexibility and digitalization of stamping equipment. Precision hot stamping process requires that the press can achieve high precision, high efficiency, low energy consumption based on digital control system.This paper has done the following research based on the design and testing of digital mechanical servo press.Firstly, the requirements of precision hot stamping process about press have been analyzed, including high precision forming, high efficiency production as well as low energy consumption. According to those requirements, the mechanism and cyber-physical of press are studied.Secondly, a press control model oriented to precision hot stamping has been raised. Hot stamping process database has been established based on the requirements of precision hot stamping process.Thirdly, the four key performances of mechanical servo press have been studied. Once these key performances are achieved, the precision hot stamping process would be accomplished. Methods for performance evaluation of digital servo press also have been proposed.Finally, the servo press has been applied on the high strength steel hot stamping production line. Press test results have proved that the servo press has achieved high precision forming, high efficiency production and low energy consumption, which means that precision hot stamping process has been accomplished. |
