In recent years,with the continuous development of science and technology,in the field of new energy,medical instrument and very large scale integration circuit,it is required that the complex shape parts are high precision and surface quality.The diamond material has higher hardness,stronger wear resistance,better chemical stability and many other advantages.So diamond is considered the best tool material in the field of precision machining.The round nose diamond turning tools,which are more likely to improve the cutting accuracy,are so easier to implement for the stability control of cutting force and cutting thickness that the demand of round nose diamond turning tool is increasing more and more.In this paper,a round nose diamond tool lapping system is developed,and used to efficient and high quality processing of the round nose diamond turning tool,based on the forming principle of the diamond turning tool.First of all,a three axes linkage lapping system is built via the construction of the hardware system,the design of the new tool clamping structure ensures the accuracy in the process of image acquisition,turning tools of different flank angle can be lapped in the system and the function of lapping the rake and flank face in the same fixture.In order to find the best structure in the different tool clamping structure design,the stress deformation,the stress and the resonant frequency of the different structure are analyzed through the simulation analysis.Second,the function of the profile testing of the round nose diamond turning tool and the position of the rotating oscillation center are completed by the image processing,and the concise and easy to operate human-computer interaction interface is completed by the written of motion control programs.Finally,a single factor experiment method is used to investigate the important parameters in diamond turning tool lapping.The parameters include the grain size,the jigging motion speed,the rotating speed of the lapping plate,the feed of the turning tool and the feed speed of the radial translation stages.The best parameters are determined by the experiment.According to these parameters of lapping experiment,the profile of the circular diamond turning tool is 1.5 ?m.
