Tailings pond is as a tailings storage place in which a metal or nonmetal ore is discharged after the ore is processed.And it is mainly used to protect the environment around the mine.But at the same time tailings reservoir is also a kind of dangerous energy source with great energy.In a period of more than a decade or even decades,all kinds of natural(rain,earthquake,rat holes,etc.)and man-made(mismanagement,uncoordinated worker-peasant relations,etc.)unfavorable factors always or periodically threaten its security.Once the dam break,it will pose a huge threat to the environment and residents' property and life in the downstream.According to the concept of safety based on prevention first,the block engineering becomes necessary.The block engineering gives priority to the block dam.However,tailings pond dam-break debris flow dam has risk of being destroyed,because it is not unable to withstand impact.It will increase the dangers of debris flow significantly in the downstream.Therefore,according to the different types of dams,this paper designs a new type of dam-debris flow dam to study the blocking performance of the new dam.The main contents and conclusions of this paper are as follows:Firstly,by comparing the advantages and disadvantages of different debris flow dam,a new type of dam-debris flow dam structure is put forward.The energy dissipation buffering performance of the intermediate material and the new dam structure are systematically studied.Then the material with energy absorption properties-foam concrete is systematically studied.The specimens are made and the compressive strength and impact resistance of the specimens are tested,and the relevant laws of the foamed concrete are obtained.Finally,through a series of tests including reservoir of sampling,soil test and so on,a certain concentration of tailings mortar for testing are selected.Under the condition of full dam break,are the influence of the location of the dam and the thickness of the intermediate energy absorbing material on the blocking effect of the downstream flow area studied by the use of the tailings library model of independent design.with location of the dam being closer to thereservoir area and thickness of the intermediate energy absorbing material increasing,peak value of mud depth and tap velocity of designated spot of downstream circulation area reduce in the pilot study.On this basis,the comprehensive management measures of the dam are put forward to ensure that the dam can play a cushioning effect when the tailings pond is crashed.
