Gas reservoir with bottom water is very universal in china,which occupies a large proportion of domestic gas reservoirs and commonly has rich reserve.To some extent the bottom water provides energy for the development of gas reservoir,but it also causes the problems of highly efficient development because of the fast bottom water coning.According to the characteristics of the development of gas reservoir with bottom water,many domestic and foreign scholars have done a lot of research on the critical production,water coning height and bottom water breakthrough time.In the early stage of gas reservoir development,the coning of bottom water can be postponed by keeping production smaller than the critical production.And it can provide references for the rational measures of water control by the accurate predictions of the critical production and bottom water breakthrough time.Some measures of bottom water control can be adopted to delay even to eliminate the bottom water coning,which prolongs the stage of gas production without water and enhances gas recovery.On the basis of investigation of the related literatures and some models established by other researchers,the following works have been completed.According to the filtration theory of gas-water two-phase flow and the filtration characteristics of the mass point flow through porous media,some formulas for vertical well in bottom water gas reservoir without barrier were developed to predict water breakthrough time considering non-darcy flow and the critical production,water coning height considering the inter-well interference.For vertical well in bottom water gas reservoir with barrier,other formulas were developed to predict the water breakthrough time considering non-darcy flow and the critical production,water coning height.Formulas for horizontal well in bottom water gas reservoir with barrier were also deduced to predict water breakthrough time and critical production.The paper has also done research on the measures of water coning control with barrier combined with the DWL installation.Some calculation examples have been performed to analyze the factors which influence the water coning.The research in the paper has a certain significance for the rational development of the gas reservoir with bottom water.
