Research On Economic Development And Environmental Quality Coordination Of The Yangtze River Economic Belt

The Yangtze River Economic Belt across the eastern,central and western areas in China,covering eastern areas: Shanghai city,Jiangsu Province and Zhejiang Province,central areas: Anhui Province,Jiangxi Province,Hubei Province and Hunan Province,western areas: Chongqing City,Sichuan Province,Yunnan Province and Guizhou Province.It is occupying the important strategic position in our country.However,many things bring serious pollution of The Yangtze River Economic Belt’ environment,such as the rapid growth of the economy,the population density,the large-scale development of the basin,much industrial waste water and life waste water discharging into the Yangtze River.In recent years,it forms a more than 650 km of the damage zone along the Yangtze River gradually,which contains more than 300 kinds of toxic pollutants.The survey suggests that the Yangtze River pollution has formed nearly 600 kilometers of the shore.Annual amount of waste water discharging into the Yangtze River ranks first compared with other basin,accounting for about forty percent of water in our country.Repair the Yangtze River ecological environment is in the overwhelming position for the current and future quite a long period,catch big protection and no big development.The colloquium also pointed out the basic direction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt: build the Yangtze River Economic Belt into ecological civilization belt,innovation driven belt and coordination development belt.It is visible that the Yangtze River Economic Belt is directives in the development of Chinese economy and the sensitive area of environmental protection also.So it is significant and meaning to research the Yangtze River Economic Belt economy and environment coordinated development.Based on this,this paper takes the Yangtze River Economic Belt as research object,analyzes the present development situation of the Yangtze River Economic Belt’s economy and environment,researches economy and environment coordinated development degree from the angle of space-time evolution characteristic and finally gives relevant countermeasures and suggestions according to the results of the study.This paper’s main contents and conclusions are as follows:(1)Firstly,this paper analyzes the development situation of the Yangtze River Economic Belt’s economy and environment.Yangtze River delta region’s economic development level ranks fist,followed by central region and Chengdu-Chongqing region,finally the Yunnan Guizhou economic corridor.In recent years,western areas’ economic develop rapidly and Guizhou Province has the highest average GDP growth rate.The study also finds that the overall development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt presents the primary industry proportion is dropping,secondary industry and tertiary industry are increasing.The Yangtze river delta region’s and the Yunnan Guizhou economic corridor’s tertiary industry proportion are higher than secondary industry proportion,primary industry accounts for more than the minimum and forms a "321" industrial structure pattern;Central region’s tertiary industry accounted for less than secondary industry and form "231" industrial structure.From the aspect environment,in recent years,environmental pollution is increasingly seriously along the Yangtze River Economic Belt.The present situation of "three wastes" emissions is that SO2 emissions of Guizhou Province are the highest,which is the main reason that acid rain happens in Guizhou Province;Solid waste production in Yunnan Province is the highest,up to 143.32 million tonnes in 2015;Waste water emissions in Jiangsu Province is the largest.From the aspects of air quality in recent years,air quality in the Yangtze River Economic Belt cities are getting worse,the Guizhou Province and Kunming Province’s air quality are best,while air quality in Wuhan City is the worst.(2)Secondly,this paper studies curve characteristics between per capital GDP and environment pollution level,using sample data from 2004 to 2014 in various provinces in The Yangtze River Economic Belt,based on the theory of Kuznets Curve(EKC).The result shows that the environmental Kuznets Curve of Jiangsu Province monotone increases,which means the economic growth leads to the deterioration of environment at the same time.Environmental Kuznets of Zhejiang Province,Anhui Province and Shanghai City present inverted u-shaped curve.Environmental Kuznets of Zhejiang Province,Anhui Province and Shanghai City present inverted u-shaped curve.Environmental Kuznets of Hubei Province,Hunan Province,Chongqing Province and Sichuan Province present u-shaped curve.Environmental Kuznets of Jiangxi Province,Guizhou Province and Yunnan Province present inverted n-shaped curve,taking the path of improvement,further deterioration and then improvement.(3)Finally,the paper studies the coordination of economy and environment of Yangtze River Economic Belt.From the angle of space-time evolution and mechanism of action,this section builds the index system of economic subsystem and environment subsystem and coordinated development degree model;calculates coordinated development degree and comprehensive coordinated development degree of various provinces and cities along the Yangtze River Economic Belt based on data from 2004 to 2014 year;then analyzes comprehensive economic and environmental coordinated development degree’s time evolution characteristics.The results indicate that: In the aspect of time evolution,the trend of comprehensive coordination degree of Yangtze River Economic Belt presents a"N-shaped pattern which increases firstly,then decreases,and then increases,besides the regional comprehensive coordinated degree presents the phase feature.In the spatial evolution,the trend of the regional comprehensive coordinated degree is decreasing from east to west,and Shanghai,Zhejiang and Jiangsu which are in eastern China have the highest comprehensive coordinated development degree,the central China is the next and Yunnan and Gui-zhou which are in western China are the lowest and the spatial differences between the provinces and cities of the Yangtze economic belt are narrowing gradually.
