| With the improper use of air conditioning equipment and room decoration materials, air quality has become one of the major concerns of people’s daily lives in modern society.Meanwhile rooms with air conditioners normally have furniture or use baffles to separate areas, especially office rooms of high occupancy, which would cause the accumulation of hazardous air pollutants in rooms.Factors like methods of ventilation, pollutant characteristics and internal partitions of areas have a great impact on the distribution of indoor air pollutants and air flow in rooms by changing the airflow distribution and pollutants removal effect in air-conditioned rooms. There have been plenty of researches on the first two factors and we are now,in this paper, focusing on the total effect of all three factors on the air quality of rooms with air conditioners. In this paper,we design our experiment by using existing experimental conditions, firstly a series experiment were designed and conducted. We obtain values of velocity and temperature at all selected measuring points under two types of ventilation strategy and then organize the data were measured and analyzed.By using the CFD numerical simulation technology,we run simulations based on the experiment model with FLUENT.Then we obtain our results through numerical simulations by establishing employing the k-ε two-equation turbulence model. The simulation results were compared with both our measurements and other experimental data from the literature.By comparing the experimental and simulation data, comparing the experimental data with existing research files and using the sign test method to test the significant difference between the experimental and simulation values,Based on this validation process,we can verify the feasibility and reliability of numerical simulations methods in the study on these problems. With full verification of the accuracy of the mathematical model and the numerical simulation,we further extend the numerical simulation to study the distribution of air flow and the distribution characteristics of air pollutants in the laboratory under different scenarios. We run our simulations with different heights of indoor baffles, different ventilation methods with various ventilation rates. The characteristics of pollutant source were also taken into considerations and speed of ventilation and different types of pollutants distribution.By comparing the results of all laboratories,we evaluated different impacts about these factors on the airflow and pollutantdistributions and then conclude the best combination of factors for indoor air quality.Furthermore,we want to obtain results on the distribution of air and pollutants in various indoor situations to offer helpful suggestions to future design of indoor ventilation and basic equipment(furniture, baffles)in working places. |
