Synthesis Of N-heterocyclic Carbene-palladium(?) Complexes And Their Catalytic Activity Toward C-N Coupling Of Aryl Chlorides

In this paper, two different types of N-heterocyclic carbene-palladium(II) complexes were synthesized and successfully used in the C-N coupling of aryl chlorides:(1) First, a series of N-heterocyclic carbene-palladium(?)chlorides-1-methylindazole and -1-methylpyrazole complexes was successfully synthesized. Under the optimal reaction conditions, they were efficient catalysts in the C-N coupling of primary and secondary amines with aryl chlorides at low catalyst loadings.(2) Second, a series of N-heterocyclic carbene-palladium(?)chlorides-pyrimidine complexes was successfully synthesized. Under the optimal reaction conditions, they were also efficient catalysts in the C-N coupling of primary and secondary amines with aryl chlorides at low catalyst loadings.
