The traditional processing of automobile half shaft nut adopts hot upsetting and cutting, which has a bad production environment, inefficient supplies and poor quality of forming products.Based on this, this paper puts forward the research on the precision forging process of automobile half axle nut, and probes into the related technologies of two typical nuts. The characteristics of metal bulk forming, deformation and finite element theory were briefly explained and the typical production process of six angle slotted nut was enumerated.Based on this, the two sets of six position cold forging forming process of the Slotted Hex Nut were designed, the forming difficulty of nut and some factors influencing the forming were analyzed, the amount of deformation of materials in each process was reasonably distributed and the feasibility of the two process plan was illustrated from the theoretical point of view. The mechanical behavior of SCM435 alloy steel was studied and the J-C constitutive model under different temperature and strain rate was established. The finite element modeling of the two forming processes, the selection and setting of the key parameters of the material fracture criterion and the numerical calculation are carried out. Finally, based on the simulation results, the forming process was determined. The characteristics of floating backward extrusion forming were introduced, in order to withstand high load wear under extrusion punch as the optimization goal, the punch speed, the friction coefficient between the contact surface as the factor level, combined with multi factor and multi level orthogonal test, the best combination was obtained, and the design of the die was completed according to the result. Finally, based on enterprise, this paper analyzes the feasibility of applying the finite element simulation analysis to the cold forging process of automobile axle axle nut by using the eccentric nut as a typical automobile axle nut.Based on finite element technique, the mathematical model of forming process optimization was established and the main objective function was selected to optimize the process. What's more, the final forming process was determined, and the design of multi position die for eccentric nut was completed. Finally, combined with the field test, the multi position automatic cold heading machine was used to test the eccentric nut, and the reliability of the finite element simulation test was compared with the simulation test.
