One application of Poly(aspartic acid)(PASP)Hydrogels is used in agricultural and forestry water retaining agents because of its natural degradation,but compared with the commercial water-retaining agent,the degradation rate of PASP hydrogels is too fast,resulting in its water retention effect of working time lower than the commercial water-retaining agent,so as to obtain the economic benefits lower than the commercial.Therefore,the main purpose is to improve the stability of hydrogels,to extend the role of time,so as to obtain higher economic benefits.Firstly,PASP hydrogels were synthesized by the existing optimum process,and the degradation mechanism was explored.The thermal degradation kinetics shows that the degradation process of hydrogels is close to the first-order reaction.The results of IR and NMR show that the degradation of PASP hydrogels occurs mainly due to the hydrolysis of the ester bonds.According to the mechanism of hydrogel degradation,the interpenetrating network was synthesized firstly.The PASP/PAA interpenetrating network hydrogels were synthesized by two-step method,and their synthesis conditions were optimized by orthogonal design.The synthesized hydrogels were characterized by structural characterization and performance testing.Rotational rheometer test results show that the degradation temperature of PASP/PAA hydrogel increased to 145 ℃,thermal stability significantly improved.The second improvement is through the modification of PSI to synthesize polyaspartic hydrazide(PAHy)hydrogel,hydrogel sludge degradation test results show that:The degradation rates of PASP/PAA interpenetrating hydrogel and PAHy hydrogel were 88%and 80%,respectively.Compared with PASP hydrogels(96%),the stability was improved to some extent.Finally,the effects of PASP/PAA hydrogels and commercial water retaining agents on the growth of maize and celery were studied.The results showed that the addition of PASP/PAA hydrogel could improve the germination rate of maize and the germination rate increased by 33.3%.Moreover,the addition of PASP/PAA hydrogel could significantly promote the growth of celery,and its photosynthetic rate increased by 85.9%compared with the blank group,which was 53.4%higher than that of the commercial group.The chlorophyll content and VC content increased by 181%and 12.9%respectively,compared with the blank group.
