The paper based on Huxi coal mine as the engineering background,systematic studying the deformation and failure characteristics of surrounding rock and control measures around the deep gob-side entry in the deep mine by the methods of theoretical analysis and numerical simulation.Above all, the paper is to study the deformation and failure characteristics of the surrounding rock roadway. Using Flac3D numerical simulation software, establish a numerical calculation model. Then based on mechanics model about curved triangular block structure to analyzed the deformation mechanism of surrounding rock of deep roadway driving along the road. On the basis of study, by analyzing the stability of coal pillars with different sizes and determining the reasonable coal pillar size. According to the characteristics of deformation and failure of surrounding rock in different periods along the roadway, which includes the effect of the adjacent face lateral support pressure, excavation and the impact of the face mining. The paper systematically studies the surrounding rock control measures of deep roadway driving along the road. And puts forward the countermeasures of surrounding rock control,also selected the support plan and verifying the support effect, which can provides a reference method and basis for the field application narrow coal pillars along the roadway.The results of this study not only have important theoretical and practical engineering value for perfecting the theory of surrounding rock control in deep roadway, but also provides some reference value for the coal pillars and the control of surrounding rock under similar conditions to a certain extent.
