Atmospheric particulate matter is becoming a threat to human health and the natural environment of the primary pollutants.Chengdu City,the overall wind speed is small,high frequency static wind,perennial inversion phenomenon,the country's two largest wind zone,air pollution is not conducive to the horizontal and vertical diffusion,and the complex terrain around Chengdu and a large number of coal consumption,the air pollution has become a serious problem in this city.Heavy metals are carried by atmospheric particles,enter the body through breathing,accumulation in the human body,can cause a variety of diseases,and even lead to death,in the atmospheric particles water-soluble ions easily absorbed by the body,causing harm to the human body,the Eastern District of Chengdu City,atmospheric particles and heavy metals in the water soluble ion geochemistry lack system research.For a better understanding of the sources of PM2.5 and PM10 in the Eastern District of Chengdu City,the development of relevant and effective emission control policy recommendations for the government and environmental protection departments,this paper systematically studies the concentration levels of PM2.5 and PM10,using ICP-MS to study the characteristics of heavy metals by ion chromatograph,the water soluble ions were studied.And to study the characteristics of seasonal variation of particulate matter;scanning electron microscope?SEM-EDX?,to understand the morphology of particles and compositions,and preliminary identify the source of particulate matter;combined with the enrichment factor?EF?and principal component analysis of atmospheric particulate matter on heavy metals and water soluble ion source analysis.To determine the source of PM2.5 and PM10 and its contribution rate.The results show that the Eastern District of Chengdu City,PM2.5 and PM10 of atmospheric particles' concentration in the eastern area of Chengdu were 101.99?g/m3 and 168.89 ?g/m3,more than two national average annual compered with air quality standard?GB3095-2012?,seasonal variations were both winter > spring >autumn > summer;heavy metal elements in atmospheric particles PM2.5 concentration from big to small was Zn>Pb>Cr>Cu>As>Ni>Cd>V,and PM10 in the concentrationof heavy metals from large to small: Zn>Pb>Cu>Cr>As>Ni>Cd>V,the overall distribution of seasonal variation trend is highest in winter and lowest in summer,and the quality percentage of heavy metals PM2.5 and PM10 showed that heavy metals easily enriched in PM2.5 ion concentration;water from large to small order:SO42->NO3->NH4+>Ca2+>K+>Cl->Na+>Mg2+>F-,the overall distribution of seasonal variation trend is winter > spring > autumn > summer,and water-soluble ions are easy to accumulate in PM2.5.The SEM-EDX results show that the study area is mainly composed of atmospheric particles of fly ash particles,soot aggregates and mineral particles?sulfate mineral particles,carbonate mineral particles?,unknown biological particles composed of fly ash particles and soot aggregates mainly from coal,fossil fuel,automobile exhaust,mineral particles mainly from dust.The enrichment factor showed that the heavy metal elements were obviously artificial.The results of principal component analysis showed that the combustion of fossil fuels contributed most to the heavy metals and water-soluble ions of atmospheric particulates PM2.5 and PM10,followed by dust?building dust,ground dust and so on?.
