Domestic printing industry is now in a period of transition and upgrading.Industry 4.0 is a task to be faced by all the printing enterprises, and the core of which is intelligence. The key technical support for those enterprises is to find how to make effective use of the rapid developing Internet, Internet of things and information technology. For most printing enterprises, the survival basis is to maintain high printing quality. In that case, the digitized, automatic and intelligent printing quality evaluation is a must to obtain stable and high quality printing production. It has to be controlled precisely and a printing standard has to be followed from printing to test through the whole printing workflow. In addition, printing enterprises are just exactly during the hot era of"Big data". It is a vital subject to develop the data value of every segment throughout the printing process. And before this, how to store these valuable data is one of the problems that has to be solved eagerly.In order to solve these two problems mentioned above, a preliminary semi-intelligent and data storage solution for printing quality evaluation was given in this paper. Firstly, relevant specification in the international offset printing standards which named ISO12647-2 were referred to as theoretical fundamental for the printing quality inspection and evaluation. Secondly, the correlation function based on the EyeOne-C-SDK interface for secondary development were introduced which can offer technical support for invoking measuring equipment of the software system.After that, the relevant data tables were designed with MySQL database, which can provide the data storage and call service for the software system. Finally, a test,evaluation and data automatic storage software system for printing quality was developed with Visual Studio 2015 development environment, C++ programming language and MFC development library. The software with distribution functions can offer different permissions for different roles of staff. Nine kinds of evaluation index and overall scores based on density and chromaticity can be obtained through off-line measurement of the printing proof. It provides quantitative basis for printing quality monitoring and control. The printing work data will be stored automatically for certain printing enterprise user, and that the accumulated data can be first-hand analysis and digging into reference for printing quality monitoring, staff performance appraisal and press efficiency monitoring.
