In this study,tin-bronze self-lubricating composites were prepared. This composites have wide working temperature range, low frication efficient, high wear resistance.Tin-bronze self-lubricating composites with low-carbon steel as substrate were obtained by powder metallurgy process and functional gradient composite materials. The composites prepared by the combination and synergistic effect of different lubricant, had continuous self-lubricating property at the range of room temperature to 600℃.It revealed that the addition of silver promoted the separation of lead from tin bronze, and the lead was dispersed homogenously on the friction interface. The rolling friction played a role in reducing friction at the low temperature, while boundary lubrication was dominant at the temperature over the melting point of lead.It was found that the addition of metallic oxide nanopartic les, such as ZnO and PbO2,could enlarge the working temperature range of the graded self-lubricating composites. The tribological properties of graded composites at different temperature were studied. It revealed the graded composites with QSn663,Ag,WS2 and PbO2 as lubricating layer had continuous self-lubricating property at the range of room temperature to 600℃,low friction efficient and wear loss.
