In practical applications,corrosion situation of anti-corrosion coating become more serious due to its wear and tear,erosion and other external forces.Therefore,studying the mechanical and conticorrosion properties of the coating under multifactorial synergy has great practical significance.In this study,organic modified attapulgite clay(OAT)/ polyaniline(PAn)composites were dispersed in epoxy resin to improve the mechanical and corrosion resistance of the coatings.The effects of morphology and feed ratio of material,curing agent type and epoxy resin type on the mechanical property and corrosion resistance of the coating were discussed.The OAT/PAn composite coatings were prepared by in-situ chemical oxidation polymerization method based on our previous research.The results showed that PAn with irregular morphology were compounded with OAT successfully by SEM.The mechanical properties of the coatings appeared best when the dosage of PAn and OAT content was both 1.0 wt%.The OAT/PAn composites were also prepared by interfacial polymerization.It was showed that the rod-like PAn composite with OAT were successfully prepared by FTIR and SEM.The coating with 0.2 wt% of OAT and 1.0 wt% of PAn exhibited the best mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.It can be seen that the comprehensive performance of the coatings added OAT and PAn with irregular morphology was improved greatly comparing with the rod-like PAn prepared by interfacial polymerization.The hardness of coatings reached to 2H measured by pencil test.The attached force level was 0 grade.The flexibility was 8 mm and the impact resistance was 100 cm.The effects of different curing agents on the properties of OAT/PAn composite coatings were studied.The epoxy resin coatings added OAT/PAn which was prepared by in-situ chemical oxidative polymerization and cured by three different curing agents,that is modified aliphatic amine 593,phenolic aldehyde amine T-31 and low molecular polyamide 650,respectively.It was showed that the coating cured by 593 was more compact and appeared more excellent corrosion resistance property due to the better adhesion force than the others.The anti-corrosion properties of coatings was corresponding to their adhesion results.Three various epoxy resin,that is bisphenol-A,bisphenol-F and hydrogenated bisphenol-A,was cured by being mixed with a certain amount of three kinds of curing agents,respectively.The results showed that the hydrogenated bisphenol-A type had the best comprehensive performance after being cured by 650 curing agent.The hardness of coatings was HB by pencil test and the attached force level was 0.The flexibility reached to 2 mm and the impact resistance was 100 cm.The electrochemical results showed that corrosion potential and corrosion current density arrived to-646 mV and 3.80×10-6 A·cm-2,respectively.Basing on this result,1.0 wt%OAT/1.0 wt%PAn composites were added into the coating and it was found that the corrosion resistance and mechanical properties were improved obviously than pure epoxy resin coatings.
