With the amelioration of people’ dietetic structure,the change in chewing habits lead to more oral health problems which requiring dental restoration.The most important step in dental restoration is the manufacture of dentures.Ceramics is an ideal dental restorative materials because of its good material properties.At present,in the manufacturing process of ceramic denture,the ceramic material processing performance is poor.The research and development of CAD/CAM system equipment is difficult and expensive.In this paper,a novel processing method of ceramic denture by isostatic pressing based on 3D printing mould is proposed.Denture mold is manufactured by using the technology of reverse engineering and 3D printing,and the denture ceramic body is pressed directly by isostatic pressing.According to the shrinkage rate in the forming process of the ceramic body,the design of the mould is compensated.Finally,the suitable size ceramic denture body is prepared.Firstly,the design and manufacture of denture mould.An optical scanner is used to make a 3D measurement of denture sample.Surface model of denture is obtained by optimizing denture point cloud,building and fitting surface.Denture mold model is built in Creo Elements/Pro 5.0 software.Denture mold is manufactured by 3D printing.Secondly,isostatic pressing process of ceramic denture body is simulated.Ceramic denture body is manufactured by the process of isostatic pressing.Isostatic pressing process of ceramic denture body is simulated by ABAQUS software.The shape variation nephogram of denture body in the forming is obtained.Real forming process of denture body is predicted theoretically.Ceramic denture body is obtained by real experiment of isostatic pressing.Ceramic denture body is analyzed in shape and surface.Finally,the shrinkage of the process is calculated,and the design of the mould is compensated.In view of the complex structure of the denture body,shrinkage of each gauge point is obtained by using the special point mark method.Denture body is considered to overall shrink by comparing shrinkage of each mark point.The whole shrink is calculated.New denture mold is redesigned and manufactured.Denture body by using new mold correspond the requirements in shape size.Specific production process of ceramic denture body isostatic pressing based on 3D printing is tried to give out.In this paper,a novel processing method of ceramic denture by isostatic pressing based on 3D printing mould is explored.By combining 3D printing technology with isostatic pressing technology,the new method has the characteristics of simple process,low cost and high efficiency.
