Gear hob is the most widely used tool in gear processing,the gear machining efficiency,precision and surface quality can be directly influenced by the performance of the gear cutter,thus affecting the quality of the gear.And the gear is not only used in the field of mechanical transmission,but also widely used in the whole machinery industry.A large number of uses of the production are similar to the shape of the hob,whose basic worm is the Archimedes worm of the Archimedes helix.Although using the Archimedes gear hob could not cut the involute profile correctly,practice proves that it is available,and the manufacture is more convenient within the allowable error range.This paper mainly analyzes the characteristics of gear hob design technology at home and abroad,and in the light of the research and application programme of the digital technology of Archimedes gear hob.The programme is based on the idea of parametric design,to generate two-dimensional map of gear hob for the production,production process and three-dimensional model diagram automatically,to conduct simulation process of basic worm of gear hob at the same time.Finally,to conduct the calculation of the tooth profile and the prediction of the range of diameter to the grinding wheel.And laying the foundation to realize the integration of CAD/CAPP/CAM,make the direction of digitized products manufacturing.The paper mainly uses the VisualLisp embedded AutoCAD 2007 editor to carry out the preparation of the AutoLisp program of two-dimensional parts drawing,based on Visual Studio 2010 programming environment of C#programming to realize the design of two-dimensional hob window interface,the design of the web interface of three dimensional hob along with the development of the driver interface program,and using Creo 2.0 to complete the parametric drawing of three-dimensional hob and using the tool of Vericut 7.3 to simulate the contour of the basic worm of the hob,using the BP neural network and Matlab 7.0 to calculate the tooth profile and the diameter of the shovel wheel.After repeated procedures test,the system of the design is feasible and stable,with certain use and research value to study.
