Design And Preparation Of Sustained Release Suspension Of Ambroxol Hydrochloride Ion-exchange Resin Complex

Objective: Ambroxol hydrochloride is a kind of phlegm dissolving drug in common use.Due to the multiple daily use of ambroxol hydrochloride products,the compliance is poor.In order to investigate the possibility of developing another sustained release drug delivery system,the ambroxol hydrochloride-resin complex sustained release suspension is prepared.Methods: The sustained release suspension was prepared by resin optimization,saturation,file coating and dispersion of the complex.Evaluation of the in vitro and in vivo performance of the suspension was carried out.Results: The results indicated that ambroxol hydrochloride-resin complex suspension had similar in vitro release behavior and pharmacokinetic parameters with the sustained release capsule product.Conclusion: The resin complex suspension would be another sustained release drug delivery system for ambroxol hydrochloride with better compliance.
