By using thependent vinyl group,Poly4-vinyl pyridine(P4VP)was grafted on resin NDA-1800 via free radical polymerization. The resins were characterized by infrared spectroscopy, elemental analyzer and specific surface and porosity analyzer.A comparative study of adsorption properties of resin SC-1,SC-2 and SC-3 for benzene sulfonic acid(BSA),2-naphthalene sulfonic acid(2-NSA)and H-acid was conducted. The experimental results of synthesis of resins showed that the optimized reaction conditions were as follows:the resin NDA-1800 was immersed in the mixture of functional monomer 4-VPandtoluene.BPO(0.75%mass fraction of 4-VP)was usedas initiator. The polymerization proceeded for 6h at 85? under nitrogen atmosphere. The staticexperiment results showed that the optimal pH for the adsorption of BSA,2-NSA andH-acid was about 2.3,2.6 and 2,respectively.The kinetic data could be well matched with the pseudo-second-order model. The adsorption rate of different aromatic sulfonic acid on the same resin was in order of BSA>H-acid>2-NSA.Theadsorption rate of the same aromatic sulfonic acid on different resin was SC-1>SC-2>SC-3.The adsorption isotherms of BSA and 2-NSA could be well matched with the Temkin model, while the Freundlich model can better fit the adsorption of H-acid.The adsorption capacity of the same adsorbate on these resins was consistent withtheir exchange capacity, namely SC-3>SC-2>SC-1,the adsorption capacities of these resins for the tested aromatic sulfonic acids were in the order of BSA>2-NSA>H-acid.The anti-interference ability to Na2SO4 of these resins was in order of SC-1>SC-2>SC-3The results of dynamic adsorption-desorption experiments showed that the dynamic adsorption process of 2-NSA on resin SC-2 can be fitted with Yoon-Nelson model. The deduced ?-Q model was ?=0.645Q+4.78 and the length of the adsorption zone can be calculated according to design flow rate, thus can determine the design height of the column. The effective regeneration of the resin can be achieved by 2%NaOH ethanol aqueous solution(V:V=1:1).
